Is the popcorn your favorite part of going to the movies?  If so, then do I have a treat for you!  With a couple of easy to use and affordable ingredients found on Amazon (contains affiliate links) you can make popcorn with that signature movie theater taste right at home, any time you want. And, might I add, popcorn made on the stove top is 1000% better than microwave popcorn, yes this is my opinion, but I stand by it!

Just look at that buttery goodness!  It sure makes a huge difference in my book!  So how do I do it?  It’s so easy, I promise if you can turn the stove on you can make this delicious snack!

Let’s start with ingredients, or supplies as we could call them. I have searched the world over (and peeled behind a few movie theater snack counters) and I’ve discovered the secret ingredient. The holy grail of movie theater popcorn…are you ready for this?  O’Dell’s Super-Kist Buttery Popcorn Oil

IMG_5128Can you believe it’s that easy!?!  This butter flavored oil is the “taste” you’re looking for.

The next contender is Flavacol Popcorn Season Salt   This stuff gives you that lightly buttery salty zing that lets your lips and tongue know you’ve been eating popcorn. I use just a small amount because I’m all about the butter.

Ya’ll, I’m a born and raised Hoosier, so I’ve spent my life surrounded by corn. The next player in this delicious snack is my favorite popcorn, Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Original Popcorn  I’m not pulling any punches here, this is just my favorite, It assures fresh and delicious popcorn goodness (again, in my opinion).

so how do I make it, that’s the part everyone wants to know!  It’s so easy!

1. Choose a pot with a lid big enough to hold your loot.
2. Out 2 TB of the O’Dell’s oil in the pot.
3. Turn heat on high and let it get that oil hot.
4. Add 1/3 cup popcorn kernels

5. Place lid on pot and listen.
6. When the popcorn begins rapid popping, turn off the heat and wait for it to stop popping.
7. Dump hot popcorn in a bowl, sprinkle with Flavacol season salt.
8. Too with O’Dell’s buttery oil topping. (I use a measuring spoon so it’s not as messy)

And that’s it!!!  Cozy up with that beautiful bowl (here’s a link to mine) of popcorn and eat that buttery goodness while it is hot, and it’s ok to share, this makes plenty for 2 people. You can easily adjust to make more.
