No-Sew Witches Stocking
A no-sew craft just for you! I saw some stockings similar to this in a magazine ad and I fell in love! I surely didn’t want to pay the price that was being asked so I pulled out my ipad and drew up a pattern of my own. Then I went to Hobby Lobby and found some cute fabric and I put this project to work.
My pattern comes in 3 pieces, each one is marked with top (so you know which way is up), the seam allowance noted with a solid line inside a dotted border. You will cut you pattern out on the dotted line and pin it to your fabric, then cut it out.
I started with the top of the stocking (the cuff/top) and cut that out in the checked fabric. Then I followed the same process cutting out the “leg” in off white muslin fabric, and the foot in orange/black fabric. I took the top of the stocking and placed it on top of the top of the leg piece. I matched up as well as I could and hot glued in place. I did the same process with the foot piece, placing it on top of the lower part of the “leg” piece and positioning it in a way that was pleasing and then glued into place.
I continued by pinning the whole stocking onto the black fabric I chose for the back. I cut the stocking out trimming any edges that were hanging over from the placement of the front pieces. I continued by gluing around the edges. I left a gap at the top so I could fold the top cuff front/back in and glue to make a nice edge, then I finished closing the sides of the stocking. Lastly, I took a piece of scrap black and glued a small hoop onto the back corner for hanging. It is really so easy!
To add that little touch of fun, I used a Sharpie paint pen to write the letters B O O onto the stockings.
Once I was all finished, I stuffed the stocking with paper towel, hung on my mantle and tied some raffia to the top loop.
