COOKING OUT ON WW

You can participate in family cook out events and maintain your healthy changes with WW! The kids were over and we decided to cook burgers and hot dogs, and you know good and well that a menu like that is not low fat or low calorie. Here are the changes I made to eat alongside my family!

Item #1: The Burger. I had the same beef burger patty that everyone else had. It’s a 95% lean ground beef patty (4 points for 4 oz) seasoned with Montreal Steak Seasoning (0 points) and grilled to a delicious medium-well. I housed my burger in a Lewis Keto bun (2 points) and dressed it with 1 slice Velveeta cheese (1 point), 1 tsp Duke’s light mayo (1 point), and red onion (0 points). That makes the burger a total of 8 points on the current WW program.

Item #2: The Sides. We didn’t have the traditional sides because this was a last minute meal. The family had good ole Mac n’ Cheese. I opted out of that since I had cheese on my burger and I chose 1/3 cup Fat Free Cottage Cheese (0 points) and 1 Tbsp Pickled Radish (0 points). Total sides 0 points.

Item #3: The Chips. The family had Ruffles potato chips they come in at 5 points for 12 chips. I chose to have Mozaicz BBQ chips which are 2 points for 15 chips (1 individual bag). Total chips 2 points.

My entire meal was 10 points on the current WW program! And I didn’t feel left out or unsatisfied. The meal was filling and I had a wonderful time sharing conversation with my family.

Some changes or additions you can make. If I had prep time, I would’ve added a veggie tray with some greek yogurt or cottage cheese ranch. This is low calorie, low point and filling! You could also exchange the beef patty for a chicken breast which is 0 points or a turkey burger 98% fat free for 0 points. If you wanted to have the mac n cheese, you could grab a Lean Cuisine white cheddar mac n cheese for 8 points and leave the cheese off you sandwich and skip the chips. This would make your meal total 15 points, it is higher in points, but doable.

All WW info is current to the program 2023, I am not a WW affiliate, I am sharing my personal experience.

I hope this gives you some ideas how to enjoy events alongside family without sacrificing taste and enjoyment.
