Fall Movie Fun

Hey! What are you doing? We’ve been on a camping adventure this week and it has been so cold, so we’ve been inside in the evenings watching movies! As with all our camping trips, we went to WalMart (not sponsored) to get groceries and I raided the $5 movie bin and found some of our favorites! This inspired me to put together a countdown list leading up to Halloween! My list is for the last 10 days of October and I made one for adults and one that is kid friendly, and if you are anything like me, you can mix and match or choose from both lists because, lets get real, I love animation and kids movies too!

On another not, before anyone comes at me…some of these movies are dark, and aren’t the choice for all folks, but this is all for fun! Pick and choose what works for you. Without further ado, here is my movie countdown!

My WalMart finds

Okay ya’ll….if you can’t find some fall fun in these lists, then I don’t know what to tell ya! I could give a little insight into each of these movies and tell you why they are my top picks, but I will spare you the bore and just say they are all fun and help set the mood and tone for the spooky holiday season!

I have a couple of honorable mention movies to share with you too! For kids, Frankenweenie is a cute one as well as Hotel Transylvania 2….just gotta say. For the adults, Stand by Me (1986) this is my favorite movie of all time and I watch it year round, but it does have dark undertones and is set in the approaching fall. It (2017 chapter 1 & 2) because you have to have a lot of King if you want spooky! Twilight (2008) ok, this has to be here, as well as the remaining movies in the series (sorry y’all, I had to do it). The Mummy (1932) and I can mention his monster friends as well; Frankenstein, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man. These are the original black and white films of “The Monsters” made in the 1930’s and y’all, they are truly fun to watch. Don’t you love a good OLD film? I do! My last mention is controversial, I am sure, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I know, this one is a bit of a cringe, but it is a cult classic and it does have some entertainment value, but I know it is NOT for everyone. However, if you want to take a wild ride that will leave you scratching your head at the end and wondering “what did I just watch?”…this one will do it (and the music is fun).

I hope you find my movie lists helpful, I love movies and enjoy setting the tone of the seasons with films I enjoy. Feel free to share some of your favorites in the comments and I hope the rest of your October is a scream!!

xoxo
